SNOOP Dogg is one of the founders of gangster rap. He has since gone on to make music, movies, and star in big-budget Hollywood movies.
His brother Bing Worthington, who died too soon at age 44, was always there for him. Here, we remember Bing and what he left behind.
His birthday is May 4, 1979, and he was born in California.
Bing met his future wife Mymy Jordan at Long Beach High School, where they both went.
They are said to have had a son together, but they didn’t want his name or date of birth to be made public, so they aren’t available right now.
A roadie on Snoop’s shows was Bing’s first job in the music business. He later became the rap superstar’s tour manager.
Additionally, he put out music with his group Lifestyle, such as the album Liquid Cocaine in 2003 and the lead single for the movie Van Wilder 2.
In an interview with Vice in 2016, Bing said that the release of his album in 2003 showed him how good he was at running a music business.
“When I put out the album, I was putting everything in the music together,” he said.
“Both my partner and I were great rappers, but I thought, ‘Why am I working on the music?’” I should be in charge of all the business side of this.
“Business talks get me going; I love meeting new people.” That made me feel like a different person.
Bing also co-wrote the song “Be Thankful” for Snoop’s rap group Tha Eastsidaz. He said it was the most important piece of music he had ever written.
He once said that he liked working behind the scenes more than being on stage, and he gave up his dreams of becoming a rapper.
It was 2016 when Bing moved to Canada and merged his studio and production company, Dogg Records, with Urban Heat Legends, another hip-hop label owned by his friend Miguel Lopez.
What did Bing Worthington have to do with Snoop Dogg?
Bing was a half-brother of Snoop Dogg through his mother Beverly Tate.
After Bing’s sad death, Snoop Dogg wrote two posts on his Instagram account on February 16, 2024, to let people know that his half-brother had died.
The musician stood in a cemetery in the first clip, which was a throwback, and talked with his brother and their other brother Jerry. They were laughing and making fun of each other.
“@badabing33 always made us laugh u bac with moms,” Snoop wrote under his post, along with a blue heart, a prayer, and a crying face.
A second post on Snoop’s profile had a picture of him and Bing posing in a green room.
He put a prayer and a dove emoji in the caption.
The reason Bing died is still unknown.
How many siblings does Snoop Dogg have?
His real name at birth was Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., and he has two half-siblings.
If you look at his mom’s side, Jerry Wesley Carter is his older half-brother.
It is said that he works for United Steel Workers.
There aren’t many pictures of the two of them together, but Jerry does show up on Tha Doggfather’s Instagram page from time to time.
Snoop’s other half-brother is Bing. He died when he was 44 years old, younger than Snoop, who is 52 years old.
